Her lips curved into a kind, gentle smile as she reached out, grasping onto one of his hands. Rubbing soothing circles on the back of his gloved hand. 

“And that’s why…we can’t give up that easily. And don’t call this a sin. It’s a gift, isn’t it? To have feelings for someone. It’s a gift between two people. Don’t carry this by yourself. I want to be there for you, too.” 

She took in a deep breath, her cheeks flushed as she shyly gazed up at the older, velvet-clad man.

“Because…I love you, too.”

He was jealous. Jealous of how calm she was, jealous of her positive thinking… Minako had fought many battles, but was she ready for this one ? Only time could tell and all in all, Theo was ready to give it a try. However, he knew that once he set foot in the game, there was no turning back. And it was fine with him.

” A gift, you say… ? It seems there are many more things you need to teach me, M-Mina…ko. ” His pale cheeks were now scarlet red. Dropping the suffix was a big step, right ? 

” Ah, is that so ? What do people do when they have the same feelings ? ” he curiously tilted his head. ” I might have an idea but I might have to save it for later since this room is not suited for that kind of thing… or is it ?. “

Theodore chuckled and lead Minako to the couch on which Igor used to sit. Since he wasn’t there right now, he figured out it would be a loss to keep such a young lady on her two feet. A simple hug would have to suffice for now although it was more than enough for his longing heart.

She pulls away slightly, giving him a rather serious stare. Did he really still believe that he was just…some servant? A helper on this tedious journey?

“Theo, you’re not just a servant! You’re important to me, okay? I wouldn’t ever count you as just an assistant. You may be Igor’s assistant, but you’re much more than that to me.” She let out a sigh, fingers brushing loose strands of hair behind her ear. “Unless…y-you think of me as just a guest in the Velvet Room?

She spoke quietly, unsure. The brunette only hoped that his reply would lighten her worries a bit. What if he really did only think of her as just another person that Igor was guiding?

Theo let out a huge sigh. He slowly let her go and nervously began messing around with his tie. His eyes were now fixated on the ground as he began speaking.

” Minako-san, it seems there is something you do not understand. ” the man gulped, as he realized there was no turning back now. ” You and I… are not meant to be. Fate can be a cruel thing, can’t it… “

” However… ” he continued, raising his head. ” I am truly glad to have met you. I don’t regret developing these feelings for you and I will carry both my sin and yours until the very end. “

A brief moment of silence.

Her cheeks flushed a dark red at his call. It seemed like he was still going to continue to refer to her as such. She puffed up her cheeks, a small pout on her lips. “Theo, how many times have I said not to call me that? Just call me by my name!”

Her warm ruby eyes took in his figure fully, her own heart skipping a beat. With a bright grin on her lips, she couldn’t contain herself anymore. She took the elegant man into a tight embrace. “I missed you, too! I’m sorry I didn’t come to visit in such a long time. I’ve been so busy.”

” Please forgive me, Mist-… Minako-san. ” he tilted his head, a little confused. Her flushed cheeks brought him joy instantaneously. He wondered if it was alright for him to drop all his worries and go ahead and squish her fragile body in his arms.

” W-Waah — !! “ 

Taken aback by her sudden reaction, Theodore took a step back. He soon gave in though, embracing her powerfully. Such a beautiful fragrance, the man thought, as soon as he made contact with the smaller one.

” No need to apologize. I perfectly understand. It has been a bit lonely… but you are a guest while I am just your humble servant, am I not ? ” Theo smiled, a little dejected.

She knew she shouldn’t be this excited, but she couldn’t help it anyways. As she stepped into the Velvet Room, her eyes immediately went to the man standing beside the large chair, an absolutely glowing smile appearing on her lips as soon as she realized who it was. “Theo!”

Books had always been the best source of entertainment for the young man but lately, something else made him restless at night. The sound of the velvet door made his heart skip a beat everytime it resounded in the large room. However, he became quite unused to it. There was no point in going outside as no one came inside…

“Theo!”

Was that… no it couldn’t have been. There was no way it-

” M-Mistress !! “

His eyes were brimming with excitment as he tightened the grip he had on his Compendium. So many days lost while looking over it again and again, hoping she’d need his help.
